School Licensing FAQs

We’ve designed our school licensing to be exceptional value for schools who wish to place a bulk order for membership.

How much does school licensing cost?

School licensing is currently available at an 85% discount i.e. €30 per student, for volume purchases.*

*See next FAQ below about minimum student numbers required for this offer.

What is the minimum number of students required for a school license?

As school licensing gives a very large discount, it requires minimum numbers to be eligible.  However, we recognise that some schools do not have large numbers enrolled, so we allow for that as well.

85% Discount for Large Orders

To be eligible for the 85% off rate (€30 per student), schools need to place an order for:

  • A minimum of 100 students

OR

  • A minimum of 1/6 of the school enrolment

whichever is the lesser amount.

So, for example a school of 1000 students would have a minimum order number of 100 students.  A school of 300 students would have a minimum order number of 50 students.

80% Discount for Smaller Orders
If a school does not meet the minimum order of 100 memberships or 1/6 of the school enrolment, we can offer an 80% discount (€40 per student) for a minimum order of 10 memberships.

Do students get full access to all resources?

Students get standard membership for the school year, and get the same access to the same resources as those who paid €199 independently via our website.

Who funds school licensing?
The fee can be funded by the school, or the student / parents, or co-funded.  A school may obtain sponsorship for some or all of the cost from a local business or organisation.
In any case, the school places the order for the full number required.
Payment falls due 30 days after the order is placed, which allows us to get students up and running as soon as the order is placed, and payment can be made by the school in due course.
Which year groups should we order membership for?
The system is of particular interest and benefit to 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th year cohorts, and also to some 1st and 2nd year students.
We have 5 separate courses available:
  • Junior Cycle (Ordinary)
  • Junior Cycle (Higher)
  • Transition Year
  • Leaving Cert (Ordinary)
  • Leaving Cert (Higher)
Can maths teachers get access to the system?

Yes of course!  Maths teachers (and school management) can avail of full access to all courses, with our compliments, and with no obligation.

How do we get our students up and running?

The steps are:

  1. Place an order by email or telephone
  2. We send out the required number of membership upgrade vouchers (by next day at latest)
  3. You give these vouchers (which each have a unique upgrade code) to the relevant students
  4. Students self-register and self-upgrade to full access using their unique upgrade code
  5. Payment can be made by the school anytime within 30 days
Why is there a minimum order requirement?

We can only give such a deep discount where we obtain a bulk order, and where we keep administration costs to a minimum.

At the same time, we don’t want to penalise small schools that have been using our system for years.

We hope the pricing system we have designed is fair to all and will allow as many students and schools as possible to benefit from our system.

Why do you have 85% off via schools?

We currently provide a very large discount on membership via volume orders through school licensing.

This is to encourage uptake by large numbers of students via their school, which is a more efficient way for us to reach new customers.  This saves us time and money which we can focus on customer support and product development.
